Next week’s Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas is just around the corner, and Volkswagen offshoot Scout Motors is getting an early start. The company has announced that its upcoming electric vehicles (EVs), the Traveler SUV and Terra pickup, will feature built-in satellite connections.
Satellite Linkup for Off-Grid Adventure
The satellite linkup hardware and service provider are not yet disclosed by Scout Motors. However, the company confirms that the vehicles will be "pre-wired from the factory" to accommodate the hotspot. The intended purpose of this feature is to provide a broad reach for drivers and passengers to stay connected in and around their vehicle.
First Two Vehicles Unveiled in October
Scout Motors only recently unveiled its first two vehicles, the Traveler SUV and Terra pickup, in October 2024. These EVs are not due to hit the market until 2027, so it’s no surprise that the company is keeping some details under wraps for now.
